YQB enters an era of sustained development

Québec City, November 21, 2019 – Stéphane Poirier, President and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), was invited to address Québec City’s business community as part of a luncheon held by the city’s chamber of commerce. During his presentation, he discussed how YQB intends to support the growth of Québec City’s airport, allowing it to fully play its role as a driver of socio-economic development and, eventually, take its proper place on the world stage. 

YQB welcomes the opening of an A&W franchise at the airport

Québec City, November 4, 2019 - Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) is pleased to announce the official opening of an A&W restaurant in its food court. This is the first in the chain to open at an airport in Québec. Travellers from here and abroad will now be able to enjoy the Canadian banner’s large menu, which features burgers and all-day breakfasts. 

Large-scale emergency exercise at YQB

Québec City, October 30, 2019 - Dozens of emergency responders and more than 100 extras gathered at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) today to participate in a large-scale emergency simulation of an active shooter situation in the terminal building. This exercise allowed YQB and its partners to test their emergency procedures and learn from the interaction between the security partners involved in the exercise. As part of its obligations to Transport Canada, YQB has a duty to test its Emergency Measures Plan (EMP) on a regular basis.

Inauguration of the Espace Wendake at YQB : Huron-Wendat culture takes centre stage at Quebec City Airport

Québec City, September 12, 2019. – This morning, the Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat Nation, Mr. Konrad Sioui, and the President and CEO of the Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), Mr. Stéphane Poirier, officially inaugurated a brand new space in the international arrivals area of the Québec City airport. The space is inspired by the cultural wealth of the Huron-Wendat Nation.

New city bus routes to YQB : Greatly improved access to the airport site for passengers and employees

Québec City, August 28, 2019. –  The president and CEO of YQB, Stéphane Poirier, and the new executive director of the Québec City transit corporation, Alain Mercier, today officially opened the new bus routes and facilities operated by Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB).  

Québec City residents join the 5 KM YQB race

Québec City, August 24, 2019 - The first 5 KM YQB race, a unique event, drew 1200 runners from the greater Québec City area for the privilege of setting foot on the main runway at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). In addition to the 5 km course, a 1.5 km course was set up for children wishing to take part in the experience.
