Québec City, March 2, 2017 – Aéroport de Québec inc. (AQi) board chair André Fortin and president and CEO Gaëtan Gagné today released the company’s 2016 Annual Report at the AQi Annual General Meeting.

Up to 70 additional flights per week — A plus for passengers

YQB U.S. customs preclearance facility takes a new stride forward

Quebec, December 12, 2016 –  The U.S. customs preclearance opportunity has taken a major step forward with the United States Congress adopting a bill that will facilitate its implementation.

This critical step results from the March 10, 2016, meeting between American President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when they “committed to make our borders more open and more secure”, notably by expanding preclearance at Jean Lesage International Airport in Quebec City.

Building on its 75-year history of serving the people of greater Québec City, YQB has great things in store, including the ongoing YQB 2018 expansion project and the recently announced plans for a U.S. preclearance center.

The main runway is fully operational once again

Québec City, June 18, 2016. – Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) has had to carry out runway repairs to ensure the safety of all passengers. The runway intersection repairs were completed during the night of Friday to Saturday, and the main runway became fully operational on Saturday, June 18, 2016, a day before the original deadline. The airport remained open and operational for airlines and passengers throughout the repairs.

Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport to be even more competitive

(AQi) welcomes the Québec government’s newly tabled Bill 109, which, in addition to granting the City of Québec new powers in its role as capital city, modernizes the airport authority’s Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) system to align with practices elsewhere in the country.

Aéroport de Québec inc. hails Canada-US agreement on U.S. preclearance center at YQB

Québec City, March 10, 2016 –  Aéroport de Québec inc. (AQi) welcomes the agreement announced today between the Canadian and U.S. governments for the construction of a U.S. preclearance center at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), after 15 years of determined efforts.

The new facility will change the face of YQB by considerably reducing connection times to the U.S. while at the same time driving economic development in the Greater Québec City Area and the surrounding regions.

Runway repairs – Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport remains open and operational during repairs

Québec, March 4, 2016 – To ensure the safety of all passengers, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) will carry out runway repairs from June 6 to 18, 2016.

The airport will remain open and operational for airlines and passengers during the repairs.

Larger aircraft, however, will not be able to operate during this period since runway lengths will be restricted. In some cases, airlines may use a different type of aircraft.

We invite passengers to contact their airline if they have any questions regarding flight schedules during this period.
